Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) - Remote

Job Overview

We are in search of a seasoned and motivated Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to spearhead all financial operations for a prestigious graduate institution specializing in optometry. Based in the vibrant city of Boston, our institution is committed to shaping the future of eye care through an exceptional educational framework and extensive clinical exposure. With a diverse student body of around 530 individuals hailing from 34 states and 8 countries, we pride ourselves on promoting an inclusive learning atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct accounting functions, including general ledger management and analysis of reports.
  • Supervise the reconciliation of external clinic revenues and expenses alongside professional services agreements.
  • Manage the oversight of fixed asset inventory, contract reviews, and business agreements.
  • Coordinate student billing and collections processes, assessing the impacts of withdrawals and graduations.
  • Administer endowment draws and spending policies linked to restricted funds, including scholarships.
  • Prepare monthly internal financial reports, encompassing comparative financial statements and productivity metrics.
  • Lead the annual audit process and institutional reporting obligations to external regulatory bodies.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive operating and capital budgets, alongside periodic forecasts and variance analyses.
  • Provide leadership to the Business Office and Financial Aid Office, facilitating efficient financial operations.
  • Evaluate institutional risk and oversee insurance agreements, in addition to managing public records processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; advanced degrees such as an MBA or CPA preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in financial leadership, with at least 5 years in a senior role within higher education or nonprofit healthcare settings.
  • Familiarity with financial management systems, specifically Jenzabar, is advantageous.

Compensation And Benefits

  • Compensation: \(175,000 - \)185,000 per annum.
