Job Title: Loan Closer (Mortgage) - Remote

Position Overview

In the role of Loan Closer, you will be instrumental in ensuring the precise and efficient closing of mortgage loan files while delivering exemplary customer service. Your contributions will include preparing and managing crucial documents, collaborating with diverse stakeholders, and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the entire mortgage process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare closing documents in accordance with final underwriting approval, ensuring all quality, accuracy, and closing conditions are met.
  • Coordinate with title companies to validate and confirm loan closings, ensuring final figures are communicated effectively and funding is approved.
  • Collaborate with Settlement Agents to finalize loan fees and meticulously review all pre-closing documents for precision.
  • Ensure full compliance with mortgage regulations (RESPA, TIL, HMDA, Reg. B, etc.) and prepare necessary disclosures accurately.
  • Actively monitor the loan pipeline to facilitate timely issuance of initial disclosures and redisclosures.
  • Complete initial disclosure packages, including loan estimate redisclosures and closing disclosures.
  • Conduct thorough audits to verify accuracy and compliance of all loan disclosures with regulatory timelines.
  • Validate incoming fees for services and ensure fee variances are consistent with standardized APR charges.
  • Communicate effectively to troubleshoot closing issues, liaising with title companies and Loan Officers to finalize loan details.
  • Manage deadlines meticulously to meet closing dates and internal processing goals.
  • Engage in continuous learning to enhance knowledge of all loan products, including specialized programs like VA and FHA.
  • Provide team support by serving as a backup for opening loan files and participating in post-closing error resolution.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma accompanied by a minimum of three years of experience in mortgage-related roles, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of Closing Disclosure preparation, TRID Closing Disclosure regulation, APR and non-APR fees, RESPA, REG Z, and CFPB guidelines.
  • Proficient in Processing Software, specifically Encompass.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the mortgage loan process and associated products.
  • Exceptional customer service capabilities combined with a collaborative attitude.
