THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will assist and train local Municipalities in the preparation of year-end reports mandated by law, along with other documentation related to Liquid Fuels Tax Funds. You will also perform monitoring reviews and financial consultations by analyzing the financial records of Municipalities to verify the appropriate use of funds designated for specific purposes. Furthermore, you will offer individual and group training sessions on the policies and procedures governing the use and reporting of the Liquid Fuels Tax Fund program, enabling Municipalities to effectively manage their Liquid Fuels Program in accordance with statutory requirements and Department of Transportation guidelines. Additionally, you will collaborate with District Municipal Services staff to address the needs of their assigned Municipal Customers. You will review the submitted year-end reports for accuracy, input data into the online reporting system if not already completed by the municipality, and resolve any issues that may delay a Municipality's payment to ensure timely allocation disbursements.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will be expected to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office.

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Auditor 1; or
  • One year of auditing experience and four years of accounting and/or additional auditing work; and fifteen (15) college level credits in accounting; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training which includes fifteen (15) college level credits in accounting and one year of auditing experience.
