Job description

Job Title: Account Manager – Poultry


Location: Home-based with regular travel to sites across the Southwest and Humberside-East Anglia region


Contract / Shift: Permanent, Monday to Friday – Flexibility is necessary.


Are you a commercially minded professional with a background in farm operations and a skill for handling high-level client relationships?


Join our team as a Key Account Manager for one of our largest accounts, were you will have a key role managing established partnerships without the pressures of cold-calling or door-to-door sales.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for our key accounts, managing complex issues, managing stakeholder expectations, and ensuring the smooth running of operations.
  • Interpret technical data and understand the impact of raw materials on farm operations, using your knowledge to make informed decisions.
  • Manage complaints and resolve challenges quickly, including making decisions during mill breakdowns and managing unexpected situations.
  • Prepare weekly reports and contribute to monthly forecasting to support strategic planning.
  • Get involved in various commercial projects, with the opportunity to lead initiatives aimed at enhancing our service offerings.
  • The role requires regular site visits (one to two times a week) and flexibility for out-of-hours and weekend calls.

About you:

  • Ideal candidate will have a background in nutrition or farm operations, potentially transitioning into a commercial role.
  • Experience or understanding of account management, particularly in agriculture or related fields, is highly desirable.
  • Able to operate with minimal supervision, taking ownership of responsibilities and collaborating confidently with senior managers.
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to build rapport with senior stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using Outlook, Excel, and other corporate tools is essential.
  • Full driving licence permitting UK driving.
  • A commitment to complete the Feed Adviser Register (FAR) modules if not already qualified.
