Position: Salesforce DevOps Engineer

Contract Type: 3-6 Month Contract

Hours: Part-time (20 hours per week)

Location: US (Remote)

Start Date: Immediate

Employment Type: 1099 (Not available for C2C)

Job Overview:

As a Salesforce DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the development pipeline and release processes for ongoing Salesforce projects. You’ll work closely with development, quality assurance, and operations teams to facilitate smooth deployments and maintain reliable Salesforce environments. This role offers an immediate start with a commitment of 20 hours per week, ideal for an experienced professional seeking a flexible contract opportunity.

Requirements

Required:

  • 3+ years of experience in Salesforce DevOps or Release Management roles.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce development practices, including Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning components.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Copado, Gearset, or AutoRABIT.
  • Proficiency with version control systems (Git, Bitbucket, or GitLab).
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies and software development lifecycle (SDLC).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Release Management:
    • Coordinate and execute Salesforce release cycles, including development, UAT, and production deployments.
    • Maintain release documentation and schedules for part-time involvement.
    • Manage version control using tools such as Git, Bitbucket, or GitLab, ensuring proper branching strategies.
  • DevOps Pipeline Support:
    • Assist in the design and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Copado, Gearset, or AutoRABIT.
    • Support automation for code deployments and configuration management.
    • Implement code quality checks and integrate static analysis tools like PMD or SonarQube into pipelines.
  • Environment Management:
    • Help oversee sandbox and production environment configurations, refreshes, and management.
    • Implement data management strategies for testing and development environments, including data masking and seeding.
    • Monitor system performance and address potential issues impacting releases.
  • Collaboration and Support:
    • Work closely with Salesforce developers and admins to troubleshoot deployment issues.
    • Provide guidance on Salesforce DevOps best practices within a part-time capacity.
    • Collaborate with security teams to ensure deployment compliance.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify and suggest areas for automation and efficiency improvements in the deployment process.
    • Stay updated with trends in Salesforce DevOps to recommend and implement new tools or practices.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Effective communication to collaborate across teams.
    • Ability to work independently in a remote-first environment.
