Job description

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Vendor Management Consultant to join our dynamic team on a 6-month remote contract, with the potential for extension. This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $42/hr on a W2 basis and is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to our Vendor Management Organization (VMO) within the Group Purchasing Organization (GPO).

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement customized strategies for managing vendor relationships.
  • Oversee the contract process for IT resource outsourcing, coordinating seamlessly with vendors, legal teams, stakeholders, and finance departments.
  • Collaborate with internal business partners to assess their requirements and evaluate vendor performance, while executing effective vendor management strategies.
  • Assist in conducting vendor performance assessments and relationship surveys for complex or strategic partnerships.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Enhance financial outcomes by guaranteeing vendor compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as needed to support the Vendor Management Organization.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical abilities to manage competing priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Proven capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team framework.
  • Comprehensive understanding of procurement policies and best practices.
  • Familiarity with P2P (procure-to-pay) management software, such as GEP, is highly advantageous.
  • General knowledge of accounting, finance, and marketing principles.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in vendor management, procurement, or a related domain.
  • At least 3 years of experience negotiating IT labor contracts and managing vendor relations.
  • Solid foundation in sourcing, procurement, or category management.
