We invite you to join our innovative aerospace company as the Director of Supply Chain Management. In this pivotal role, you will guide and enhance our comprehensive supply chain operations, ensuring both efficiency and cost-effectiveness while meeting the rigorous demands of the aerospace industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and execute an overarching supply chain strategy that aligns with corporate objectives and underpins our UAV and UAS manufacturing initiatives.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for supply chain improvements, focusing on cost reduction and operational efficiency.
  • Manage demand forecasting, capacity planning, and supply chain risk mitigation to guarantee seamless operations.
  • Oversee procurement activities, including supplier evaluation, quality assurance, contract negotiation, and purchasing processes.
  • Direct logistics and warehousing operations to maintain optimal inventory levels and minimize costs.
  • Foster collaborative relationships across production, procurement, and sales teams to satisfy customer needs.
  • Build and sustain robust relationships with key suppliers to secure high-quality and cost-effective materials.
  • Lead, mentor, and advance supply chain teams, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Develop and manage the budget for the supply chain department, focusing on cost-saving and efficiency-enhancing opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations governing supply chain, logistics, and trade, particularly federal defense acquisition standards.
  • Proactively identify and manage risks related to supply chain disruptions and market fluctuations.
  • Champion the implementation of supply chain management technologies to enhance visibility and decision-making capabilities.
  • Continuously assess and refine processes to drive efficiency and cost savings.

Required Skills

  • Extensive expertise in supply chain operations, with 20+ years in aerospace manufacturing and over 15 years in leadership roles.
  • In-depth understanding of FAR/DFAR requirements and their application in supplier contracts.
  • Proven capability to lead global supply chain initiatives and influence critical supplier relationships.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, and the Toyota Production System.
  • Technical know-how in supply chain management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Infor LN).
  • Strong leadership attributes to cultivate high-performing teams and promote a collaborative work culture.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to devise and implement effective supply chain strategies.
  • Proficient analytical skills for data-driven decision-making.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities for effective collaboration.
  • Detail-oriented approach with the capacity to perform under pressure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 20 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing with a proven track record in leadership and supplier relationship management.
