Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic team in a fully remote capacity. In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering exceptional pharmacy services to our patients and healthcare providers, playing a key part in our commitment to improving patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist BCBSM and BCNA providers, addressing inquiries regarding Medicare Part B drug coverage and prior authorizations.
  • Efficiently process prior authorization requests while managing both incoming and outgoing calls from members and providers.
  • Analyze various forms of communication, including written, faxed, and verbal inquiries, ensuring precise entry of medical authorizations into our online provider-facing tool.

Required Skills

  • A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in Specialty and/or Retail Pharmacy.
  • Proven experience in a call center or help desk environment, demonstrating excellent communication skills for effective engagement with providers and members.
  • Familiarity with specialty prescription drug names, NDC drug codes, and therapeutic classes is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • One year of pharmacy experience under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist or completion of a certified pharmacy technician program is required.
  • A solid understanding of the third-party claims process is essential.
