The Product

ShippyPro is the platform that simplifies shipping and fulfillment processes for merchants, helping them automate and speed up their operations.

We are currently undertaking a major initiative to modernize our tech stack to a fully distributed system to support our business growth for the coming years.

The Codebase You'll Be Working On

Our platform is built on a solid foundation of modern web technologies, and we are in the middle of a significant modernization effort. Our current tech stack includes:

• Frontend: We utilize React and TypeScript for building dynamic and responsive user interfaces, complemented by Tailwind CSS for creating modern, visually appealing UI components.
• Backend: Our backend is primarily built with Node JS and PHP. As we transition to a more distributed architecture, experience with microservices and AWS Lambda is highly valued.
• Testing: We ensure robustness and reliability with strong unit and end-to-end tests using Jest, Cypress, and PHP Unit.
• Design Systems: Storybook is used for developing, testing, and documenting UI components in isolation.
• Databases: MySQL and DynamoDB are our go-to databases, requiring strong knowledge in database optimization and query performance.
• Caching: Redis is employed for caching to enhance application speed.
• Messaging Buses: We utilize AWS EventBridge and RabbitMQ for messaging and event-driven architecture.
• Infrastructure: All our systems run on AWS, leveraging its power and scalability. We use Docker for containerization and AWS ECS for container orchestration and CI/CD pipelines.
• APIs: We offer robust public APIs, requiring a strong understanding of RESTful API design and GraphQL.

We handle millions of requests across the globe, ensuring our systems are robust, scalable, and always available to meet the demands of our customers. We are looking for someone who is not afraid to get their hands dirty, tackle complex challenges, and come up with creative, innovative solutions.

The Development Team: Integration Team

We are seeking talented and motivated individuals to join our Integration Team!

As part of our dynamic Engineering department, you’ll work in a fast-paced environment focused on technological innovation and growth. If you’re passionate about backend software development and eager to transform the logistics industry, this could be the perfect role for you!

You will play a critical role in maintaining and expanding our extensive library of over 200 integrations, focusing on the core of our solution—seamlessly integrating with carriers.

As a member of this backend-only team, you’ll develop fast, stable, and scalable solutions capable of handling millions of requests per second. You will have the chance to design, develop, and enhance features using PHP, working closely with product managers and team members to turn business requirements into highly efficient technical solutions.
Your role will also include participating in code reviews, testing, debugging, and optimizing our processes, ensuring that our integrations continue to be robust and reliable.

In this team, your contributions will be highly valued as we navigate through a high-growth phase, and you’ll have the opportunity to leave your mark on our core platform.

About You

• You are passionate about web development and continuously strive to improve your skills.
• You have 5+ years of experience as a full-stack developer, with a proven track record in designing and implementing high-quality software solutions
• You can work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• You have strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, to work within cross-functional teams.
• You are a team player who values collaboration and open communication.
• You are creative and innovative, always looking for new ways to solve problems and improve processes.
• You are not afraid to get your hands dirty, diving deep into complex issues and finding solutions.
