Your Title: Senior Accountant

Your Location: Remote/Anywhere within the USA

You Report To: Accounting Manager

Your Compensation: $85,000+ plus a bonus!

What you will do:

Responsibilities are, but not limited to:

    • Prepare and/or review monthly investor reports across multiple investors
    • Prepare the monthly, quarterly and annual covenant and compliance reporting for investors
    • Improve the efficiency and timeliness of the financial statement close process through thoughtful process improvements
    • Assist with the preparation and development of monthly financial reports (Consolidated Balance Sheets, Income Statements and the like) and supporting analytics for management and investors
    • Prepare monthly/annual reports for state filings
    • Own Balance Sheet account(s) reconciliation process including risk assessment, preparation and review
    • Complete analytical reviews of balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure the accuracy and validity of transaction
    • Assist with annual Financial Statement preparation and related audit.
    • Provide management with financial data and forecasting vital to the decision-making process.
    • Assist with researching and concluding on the applicability of GAAP Codification standards, while preparing memo(s) to document conclusions
    • Helps maintain and improve documentation around controls over financial reporting. 
    • Cross trained with AP accountant on AP transaction cycle
    • Support in special projects as requested.

What you bring:

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting required;
    • Thorough understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting requirement
    • Ability to work independently and problem solve when needed
    • At least 2+ years’ experience preferably working at a bank or financial services company
    • Public accounting experience is highly preferred.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including strong Word, Outlook, and Excel skills
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
    • Strong organizational and analytical with strong attention to detail
    • Previous experience with Sage Intact is a huge plus.
    • Ability to perform multiple tasks and work under strict deadlines with speed and accuracy. Ability to prioritize and plan work to meet time-based deliverables
