We are currently in search of a skilled Project Accountant to join our vibrant team! In this pivotal role, you will oversee the financial management and reporting for multiple projects, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable regulations. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence our financial success while collaborating closely with project managers to provide insights that drive strategic decisions and enhance project profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all financial elements of various projects, including revenue, expenses, cash flow, and financial reporting.
• Leverage NetSuite to ensure the accuracy and currency of financial records.
• Prepare and present detailed financial statements reflecting the status of each project.
• Conduct account reconciliations to maintain reporting accuracy and ledger integrity.
• Analyze profitability, revenue, margins, billing rates, and utilization metrics for projects.
• Effectively apply project accounting and cost accounting principles in practice.
• Work in tandem with project managers to establish realistic project budgets and forecasts.
• Ensure adherence to internal financial policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations.
• Identify potential financial risks and opportunities, offering strategic recommendations to mitigate risks and maximize opportunities.
• Assist in the creation and enhancement of processes and systems that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting and controls.
  
  

Required Skills

• Proficient with NetSuite or similar accounting software.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, revenue, expenses, cash flow, account reconciliation, project accounting, and financial accounting.
• Excellent analytical capabilities with a strong attention to detail.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
• High integrity and reliability, with a focus on urgency and results.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed decisions based on timely analyses.
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (a Master's degree or CPA is a plus).
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in project accounting or cost accounting, ideally within the engineering sector.
