Job Description

   

Join SUSE's growing Strategic Procurement team as a Procurement Manager!

In this role, you will be responsible for managing commodities/categories worldwide, including goods and services that support the company and its customers.

You will add a huge value to the business through managing performance aspects of major contracts and subcontracts.

You will be setting category strategies; supply base development to meet the company and customer requirements; and supplier contracting and negotiations; supplier qualification; and establishing quality processes / resolving quality issues. Emphasis is on strategy, supplier development, negotiations, business relationships, quality, cost, assurance of supply and predictability.

You will be developing SUSE's procurement strategies, policies and tactics required to achieve objectives. Primary objective is to reduce the cost of supply and meet demand requirements, business and quality specifications, and revenue goals.

This role is part of a wider Finance Operations team and reports directly to a Senior Manager of Strategic Procurement, who is UK based. The position can be 100% remote.

Focus Areas:

  • Analysing industry trends and procurement performance to support a supply category; reports results of analyses to procurement manager.

  • Collaborating with internal and external partners to meet procurement objectives.

  • Meeting with senior members in an observer capacity to learn about business priorities.

  • Proficiency in using supply chain and financial modelling tools.

  • Performing tasks as assigned and applying experience to align individual work with overall strategy using discretion and judgment.

  • Reviewing performance metrics on a regular basis, identifying opportunities for improvement.

Required Skills & Experience

  • First level university degree or equivalent experience.

  • Typically 2-4 years of experience in procurement or supply chain function.

  • Good understanding of procurement processes, industry, and suppliers.

  • Good knowledge and use of procurement tools and applications such as SAP

  • Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA version is strongly preferred

  • Good business application skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint) and basic supply chain modelling skills.

  • Strong analytical skills
