About the Role:

Culmen is recruiting for a Principal Researcher to consult on the methodology design and interpretation of the impact evaluation findings for a series of evaluations of a Department of State Foreign Assistance program. 

What You’ll Do in Your New Role:

The Principal Researcher (PR) will lead a series of evaluations of a Department of State funded program in areas including transnational organized crime, corruption, narcotics trafficking, and money laundering investigations. 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Master’s degree or higher in research methods, data science, program evaluation or related field with 7-10 years of experience, or PhD with 5-7 years of experience
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and conducting evaluations in areas of foreign assistance and public diplomacy projects and adult learning methodology
  • Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative research methods, data analysis, and statistical software (e.g., SAS, SPSS, STATA, NVivo).
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in public health practice and research
Desired Qualifications:
  • Familiarity to both US foreign and national security practices and/or international good practices for law enforcement approaches to addressing: transnational organized crime, rule of law, corruption, fentanyl/synthetics and narcotics trafficking, PRC/Russian malign influence, and money laundering investigations
  • Gender analysis skills
  • Ability to travel internationally
