Position Overview:   

The Post Closing Non-Agency Manager is responsible for leading and mentoring a team of non-Agency Forensic Underwriters and Post Closers to obtain resolution of investor conditions for salability of Non-Agency and Non QM loans. This position oversees the suspended loan review and remediation process and makes decisions and recommendations for complex cases.  The Post Closing Non-Agency Manager is heavily involved in department projects as well as identifying and implementing process improvements as needed. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Handle the day-to-day management of the non-Agency Teams including employee development and performance coaching. 
  • Second level escalation point for the non-Agency Teams to assist with loan level decisions on various topics; handle loan level escalations and general questions from the Non-Agency Team Lead.
  • Review original underwriting criteria and rework as necessary to ensure salability of loans.
  • Monitor Quality reporting and trends as well as advise interdepartmental leadership on allocation of fees associated with incurable loan files. 
  • Proactively monitor investor posted turn times and follow up as necessary to ensure files are reviewed within their published turn times. 
  • Monitor daily investor reporting to identify loans that have been suspended for purchase are addressed to avoid incurring suspense fees.
  • Provide guidance on formal written responses and rebuttals on complex deficiency corrections.
  • Monitor a pipeline to ensure all loans shipped are either conditioned or purchased in a timely manner.
  • Provide updates on the status of non-Agency Team’s assigned loans to Senior Management as needed. 
  • Ensure non-Agency Teams meet set monthly purchased loan goals. 
  • Problem-solve to determine solutions and identify alternative resolutions within acceptable guidelines. 
  • Ensure investor guidelines are followed for salability.
  • Ensure all department standard operating procedures are followed. 
  • Extensive communication with internal employees and external vendors.
  • Monitor time of loans on the warehouse lines and advise Senior Management of those at potential risk for curtailment from the warehouse.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for the department by attending meetings with internal partners on new projects/process improvements and perform testing as needed. 
  • Assist with onboarding and training new hires and existing employees to be upskilled on a variety of topics as needed. 
  • Responsible for adequate staffing of the non-Agency Teams including identifying additional positions needed and acting as the hiring manger.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ Non-Agency, Non-QM and Jumbo underwriting experience with exposure to both manual and automated underwriting environments.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a management role.
  • Experience with Non-Agency, Non-QM and Jumbo guidelines along with exposure to investor conditions and exceptions.
  • Experience with transaction components that indicate a potential for fraud.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent prioritization and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay Range:

  • Base Pay:
  • $85,000-$110,000
  • The posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
