Remote - with some travel required throughout the system

Responsible for managing informatics resources for large regional and enterprise clinical technology initiatives.  Under the direction of the CNIO, identifies opportunities to partner with Project Management leaders to ensure seamless implementation of clinical informatics initiatives.  Communicates with regional and enterprise IT and operational leaders to support effective change management of innovation and new initiatives.  Leads clinical governance and decision-making groups, developing the agenda and working with clinical informatics and application teammates to identify topics to be discussed.  Tracks the results of those meeting and communicates with the teams to close the loop with our customer.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Effectively leads, coordinates and integrates regional and enterprise activities to achieve enterprise goals.  Coordinate Clinical Informatics functions for large enterprise clinical IT initiatives.  Is able to lead and oversee end to end Clinical Informatics functions for large enterprise clinical IT initiatives.
  • Define or assist project manager in defining project scope, objectives, deliverables and success criteria for large regional and enterprise clinical initiatives.
  • Guide project team to abide by a comprehensive project plan and adhere to timelines and resource allocation strategies.
  • Assist with the development of comprehensive project plans, timeline and resource allocation strategies, independently or in partnership with the Project Management Office.
  • Mentor and coach members of the informatics and training teams in integrated workflows around all clinical applications and systems.
  • Partner with clinical and executive leadership, IT teams, subject matter experts and stakeholders in the planning and execution of large regional and enterprise clinical IT initiatives.
  • Facilitate communication alignment and decision making across diverse teams.
  • Actively participates in IT Governance activities.
  • Contribute to the development of project charters and project plans as they relate to the informatics functions within large clinical projects.
  • Identify change initiatives necessary for the success of large regional and enterprise clinical initiatives.
  • Coordinate Clinical Informatics project activities, ensuring adherence to timelines and milestones.
  • Gather data to track key performance indicators of large regional and enterprise clinical initiatives.
  • Understand clinical processes, pain points, and user needs related to clinical initiatives.
  • Collaborate with clinicians to align technology solutions with workflows.
  • Develop test plans, scenarios and acceptance criteria of new or enhanced clinical workflows.
  • Evaluate project outcomes and apply lessons learned to future projects.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

License/Registration/Certification:  Active RN License in state of residence. 

Level of Education:  Master’s degree in nursing or informatics or related field

Years of Experience:  At least 7 years’ experience in Healthcare IT Informatics, Project Management

  • Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strong analytical thinker able to break down projects into appropriate sub-components. 
  • Self-starter comfortable taking the initiative and making decisions on the best available information.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to handle project complexity and detail.  Ability to identify key elements and define detailed work break-down structures to incorporate them into project plans.
  • Delivery focused and tenacious with ability to work through the challenges associated with large complex projects in order to focus on the key project objectives.
  • Team oriented with the ability to form high performing teams
  • Strong influencing and persuasion skills with the ability to influence peers and superiors.
  • Strong communication skills and tools with demonstrated ability to concisely communicate with senior leaders.  Key to establishing goals, milestones and priorities, ensuring comprehensive communication of project status to the Enterprise Informatics and Training team.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification highly desired.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This position requires travel, therefore, will be exposed to weather and road conditions.
  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
  • Exposed to a normal office environment.
  • Primarily remote position with possibility for travel throughout the enterprise
