Job Overview

We are seeking a talented CSfC Network Engineer to join our dynamic team! In this role, you will utilize your extensive hands-on experience to establish, manage, and optimize enterprise-level virtual environments. This position offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement, including both remote and onsite responsibilities, with travel opportunities to various locations such as Fayetteville, NC; Oahu, HI; Fort Lewis, WA; Germany; South Korea; and the Southwest Asia region. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert technical guidance in the design, implementation, and optimization of global enterprise VDI environments.
  • Collaborate with technical staff to implement and manage robust backup strategies, ensuring effectiveness of backup and restore functions.
  • Ensure proper configuration of hosts and virtual servers within a vCenter environment.
  • Partner with technical teams to integrate APIs and scripts to enhance the functionality of enterprise CSfC solutions.
  • Collaborate with technical leads to establish, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
  • Oversee the management of virtualized desktop pools under the direction of technical leads.
  • Engage with team members, customers, and vendors to identify and address voice, data, and image communication needs.
  • Maintain the overall health of the enterprise environment by implementing and refining monitoring tools.
  • Provide on-call troubleshooting and hands-on support during critical system outages.
  • Work closely with security teams to address vulnerabilities and ensure system integrity.
  • Monitor system log files using SIEM tools to guarantee continuous service availability.
  • Assist in the secure implementation of system updates and feature enhancements.
  • Coordinate with the Security Team to apply necessary patches and security updates to systems.
  • Implement network management systems for monitoring and performance assessment across multiple communication networks.
  • Provide Tier III level request fulfillment and incident resolution support.
  • Ensure compliance with all security controls and best practices.
  • Collaborate with site and project technical subject matter experts to optimize virtualization environments and enhance system performance.
  • Liaise with third-party service vendors as required.

Required Skills

  • Extensive hands-on experience in network engineering and the management of enterprise virtual environments.
  • Proficiency in setting up and configuring Virtual Storage Area Network (VSAN) clusters.
  • Experience in optimizing Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) technologies.
  • Familiarity with various networking devices and technologies, including TACLANEs, SIPRNet, NIPRNet, VLANs, and Cisco firewalls.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Knowledge of DoD organizational structures and requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Current DOD IAT II Certification (e.g., CCNA, Security +).
  • Capability to obtain Computing Environment Certifications (e.g., MD-101, MD-102, AZ-104, or Server+).
  • Certifications such as CCNP or VMware Certified Professional are preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant technical experience is required.
