Job description

Overview:

We're seeking a Lead ServiceNow Developer who will act as development lead for an internal self-service scoped application. Working in conjunction with the product owner to plan and prioritise the roadmap and the sprint planning. The candidate will be working with a team of mid-level ServiceNow developers, who have been working on the scoped application and the expectation is to work closely with them and mentor them.

Predominantly remote working with travel to London a couple times per month. 

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

  • Development Lead mentoring mid level developers
  • Stay up to date with the latest ServiceNow releases and features and implement new functionalities where appropriate.
  • Develop and integrate ServiceNow APIs (REST/SOAP) to connect with third-party systems and applications.
  • Build custom ServiceNow applications and integrations using Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, and Web Services.
Qualifications:

Required Skills/Experience: 

  • Proven experience as a ServiceNow Developer with hands-on knowledge of platform development, customization, and integration.
  • Expertise in developing and integrating ServiceNow APIs (REST/SOAP) to connect with third-party systems and applications.
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript, Glide API, and ServiceNow scripting (Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Policies).
  • Proficient in building custom ServiceNow applications and integrations using Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, and Web Services.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to adapt to new technologies and environments.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Detail-oriented and able to think critically in solving technical challenges.
  • Ability to manage and mentor a small team of developers
Desirable only skills:
  • Knowledge of Agile and Scrum development methodologies.
  • ITIL certification or practical knowledge of ITIL practices.
  • Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their integration with ServiceNow.
  • Experience with ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, and orchestration capabilities.
  • Familiarity with other automation tools and frameworks that complement DevOps practices.
  • Knowledge of version control systems like Git.
  • Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience using Terraform.
