ABOUT US

As one of the largest entrepreneurship networks globally, Bridge for Billions creates, designs, and manages entrepreneurship programs with foundations, corporations, and public entities that have benefited more than 4,000 entrepreneurs in more than 100 countries. We exist to enable more early-stage entrepreneurs of all kinds to thrive, generating jobs and solutions for everyone, so our economies sustainably meet the needs of all.

Bridge for Billions, recognized by Forbes 30 Under 30, Ashoka, and Acumen, has worked with more than 100 organisations such as Coca-Cola, Novartis, VISA, and institutions such as the United Nations or IDB Lab in the development of large-scale entrepreneurship programs. In 10 years, Bridge has grown to a team of more than 50 people from nearly 25 nationalities, with headquarters in Madrid, where most of our team is based; an emerging LatAm HQ in Antigua, Guatemala, with a few team members; and a few people based in different places around the world.

JOB MISSION

The objective is to launch a business support program specifically designed for migrant and refugee entrepreneurs in Mexico and Colombia. This initiative aims to empower these entrepreneurs by providing them with the tools, knowledge, and networks necessary to establish and grow their businesses, fostering economic integration and contributing to local economies. The program aims to directly support 150 entrepreneurs in one year (75 per country), focusing on sustainable business development, job creation, and income generation. We are seeking two consultants, one in Mexico and another in Colombia, to manage and implement this program.

ROLES & CONTRIBUTIONS

Program Design and Customization:

  • Collaborate with local organizations to understand and address the unique needs of migrant and refugee entrepreneurs.
  • Create new synergies between local entrepreneurship support organizations and the program.
  • Develop multilingual, culturally appropriate workshops, materials, and resources that are easy to understand.
  • Design the program, including metrics and timelines.

Outreach and Selection Strategies:

  • Implement outreach strategies to identify and attract migrant and refugee mentors and entrepreneurs through community centres, NGOs, social media platforms, media, government agencies, and other allies.
  • Promote the program with our donors to recruit mentors from their own organisation.
  • Monitor the development of the program's website and marketing materials with the program's technical team.
  • Provide feedback on the design of marketing/communications materials to ensure they fit the local and sectoral context of the program and translate them into the local language for program promotion.
  • Analyze applications received from entrepreneurs and mentors through the program platform, accepting or rejecting them based on defined selection criteria.
  • Monitor the number and quality of applications received to meet program objectives (entrepreneurs and mentors).

Incubation Program Implementation:

  • Coordinate the delivery of the incubation program, including personalised mentoring, business skills training, and access to the Bridge for Billions digital platform.
  • Ensure cultural sensitivity training for mentors and staff, and adapt the curriculum as needed.
  • Select the entrepreneurs and mentors who will participate in the program.
  • Monitor the progress of entrepreneurs and mentors throughout the program and schedule ad-hoc meetings to advise participants as needed.
  • Communicate and remind participants about upcoming group meetings or training sessions via email or messaging platforms (e.g., WhatsApp).
  • Conduct a detailed review of work done in the online program and provide feedback or resources to support entrepreneurs.

Event Management:

  • Organize events for entrepreneurs to present their businesses to a broader audience, including potential investors and partners.
  • Organize and hold a Demo Day to showcase the selected entrepreneurs and their businesses to potential investors and program allies.
  • Facilitate networking opportunities to foster connections and investments.

Impact Measurement and Reporting:

  • Generate detailed impact reports for the donor, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
  • Conduct a thorough evaluation of the program's effectiveness in terms of business sustainability, job creation, and income growth.

Ecosystem Research:

  • Support the development of a Situational Analysis Report of the Ecosystem to thoroughly assess the current state, challenges, and needs of Entrepreneurial Support Organizations (ESOs) within the target regions in Mexico and Colombia.

Program Coordination and Weekly Meetings:

  • Establish weekly reporting meetings with the Bridge for Billions team and program partners.
  • Ensure the program is implemented according to the timeline and within the established budget.
