Cloud Manager
Location: Remote, Hybrid, or on-site in Boulder, CO

About the Role:

We are looking to add a technical leader in cloud computing to lead efforts in the design, implementation and operational support of our industry leading platform. The Cloud Manager will be the key contributor to the strategy and vision for both the internal DevOps infrastructure and commercial product operations.

The ideal candidate will have experience mentoring and developing a strong team and will be able to quickly establish credibility. They will have the ability to bridge short term goals with longer term strategy. They will possess a positive, engaging and goal-oriented style with a passion for making a difference in the world using scientific rigor and compute power.

This position has flexibility for fully onsite, hybrid, or remote work; if hired as remote worker, quarterly travel to our headquarters in Colorado is expected.

What You Will Do:
  • Provide hands-on leadership of the cloud engineering and DevOps functions, with a willingness to get your hands dirty to show team members how it’s done.

  • Provide the vision, roadmap and support the implementation of our internal tools and products.

  • Enable the DevOps experience by transforming culture from legacy practices to enable self-reliant development and deployment.

  • Implement and review cybersecurity measures and procedures

  • Design and implement cost optimization and data life cycle management strategies

  • Work closely with cross functional leaders to make sure we are building the right thing at the right time

  • Provide leadership and experience in securing infrastructure, code and data

  • Grow the existing team balanced with external partnerships

  • Work closely with other technology leaders, most particularly in the execution of products and features that operate across multiple parts of our stack.

What You Will Bring:
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience specifically managing teams focused on DevOps and/or Cloud based engineering

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience using AWS and GCP cloud products in a production environment

  • Proven experience defining a well thought out strategy and executing on an associated operational plan.

  • Ability to dissect complicated technical problems, simplify experiences and innovate on behalf of our internal and external partners through demonstrated automation

  • Excellent leadership skills including:

    • Ability to manage FTE and contract staff remotely across multiple locations, time zones.

    • Highly detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and able to embrace change without frustration.

    • Strong analytical, strategic thinking and communication skills - must have ability to synthesize, develop and present clear and concise recommendations.

  • Experience working in a team using Agile development and project management practices.

  • Experience in the life sciences or other scientific domain

  • Experience working in a regulated

  • Adaptable to fast-paced, dynamic work environments and shifting demands.

  • Highly collaborative, team-oriented, and an effective communicator

  • Scrappy, willing to pitch in where needed.

  • Passion for making a difference in the world.

Compensation & Benefits:

This role is offering a salary between $106,448 - $138,390 and is eligible for equity offerings.
