Job description

Job Title: Bookkeeper

Location: Remote

Work Shift: EST
Working Hours: 20 hours per week (Part-time)

Job Description:

The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing daily transactions, and ensuring compliance with established accounting practices. The role involves working closely with the Controller and the executive team to support the financial operations of multiple entities. This position will start part-time but may evolve into a full-time role as the company grows and additional responsibilities are assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record and classify daily financial transactions for multiple brands.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payment and collection.
  • Track purchase orders and process vendor payments, especially with international vendors.
  • Upload and reconcile bank statements regularly.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities by preparing and reconciling financial reports.
  • Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and financial statements are up-to-date.
  • Perform monthly bank and credit card account reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Monitor and process incoming invoices, ensuring timely approval and payment.
  • Handle payment queries and maintain clear communication with vendors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • At least 3+ years of experience in bookkeeping, preferably with US-based e-commerce or DTC brands.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
  • Experience with financial software platforms such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with e-commerce platforms like Shopify and Inventory Planner.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple brands and financial records simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with the Controller, executive team, and external vendors.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
