Position Title: Adjunct Faculty - Chemistry (Remote)

Job Overview

Become a vital part of our esteemed academic community that is dedicated to delivering a comprehensive liberal arts and professional education. We are currently seeking qualified candidates for part-time adjunct faculty positions within our Chemistry Department for the upcoming Spring 2025, Summer 2025, and Fall 2025 semesters. This is an exceptional opportunity to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in a fully online, remote format, contributing to the education of students from our beautiful institution located conveniently between Boston and New York City.

Key Responsibilities

As an adjunct faculty member, your core responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering 2-6 credits of designated instructional time with students.
  • Crafting engaging lectures, projects, homework, and assessments tailored to the course syllabus.
  • Grading assignments in a timely manner and providing insightful feedback to facilitate student success.
  • Holding regular office hours and being accessible for at least one additional hour weekly, either virtually or in-person, to assist students.
  • Participating in departmental and program meetings as needed.
  • Implementing effective teaching strategies and providing clear instruction pertinent to your subject matter.
  • Leveraging technology to enhance the educational experience for students.
  • Adhering to the academic calendar by meeting all designated class periods.
  • Submitting mid-semester and final grades punctually to the Registrar’s Office and ensuring course records are maintained with the department chairperson post-course.
  • Cultivating a supportive environment that promotes student learning and achievement.

Qualifications

  • A master's degree or higher in Chemistry or a related discipline from a regionally accredited institution is mandatory for teaching undergraduate courses.
  • Previous teaching experience is highly preferred.

Compensation

  • For those with a Non-Terminal Degree & 0-6 credits experience: $3,000
  • For those with a Terminal Degree & 0-6 credits experience: $3,200
