Director of Finance
Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Director of Finance to oversee and optimize our financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SaaS, with 5-10 years of experience managing accounting, accounts receivable, billing, and budgeting processes. This role is crucial in driving our financial strategy, ensuring compliance, and supporting our company's growth as we expand our remote doorman technology to more properties across urban markets.

Job Description
Responsibilities:
  1. Financial Strategy and Planning
    • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with our expansion goals in the PropTech sector
    • Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes, considering both software and hardware components of our business
    • Provide financial insights to guide strategic decision-making, including potential new market entries and product developments
  2. Accounting and Reporting
    • Oversee all accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP
    • Prepare and present financial reports to leadership and stakeholders, highlighting key metrics relevant to our remote doorman technology business
    • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  3. Revenue Management
    • Optimize accounts receivable and billing processes for our subscription-based model and hardware sales
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve cash flow and reduce DSO
    • Oversee subscription billing, revenue recognition, and manage relationships with property management clients
  4. Financial Analysis
    • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends and opportunities in the PropTech market
    • Develop and monitor key SaaS and hardware metrics (e.g., ARR, CAC, LTV, Churn, Hardware Margins)
    • Provide actionable insights to improve business performance and unit economics
  5. Compliance and Risk Management
    • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements specific to PropTech and IoT industries
    • Manage financial risk and implement internal controls
    • Oversee audits and tax filings
  6. Team Leadership
    • Build and lead a high-performing finance team equipped to handle the unique aspects of our hybrid software/hardware business model
    • Mentor and develop team members to support career growth
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive financial excellence across the organization


Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred
  • 5-10 years of progressive finance experience in SaaS or technology companies
  • Strong understanding of subscription-based business models 
  • Expertise in financial planning, accounting principles, and regulatory compliance in tech and real estate sectors
  • Experience with financial systems and software (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate financial insights into business actions
