About Monetize Squad
In the Demand Engineering department, the Monetize squad is a full stack team of frontend and backend engineers, whose mission is to enable passengers to seamlessly purchase their trips while collecting fees to generate revenue for BlaBlaCar and managing the billing and refund process.

Your responsibilities
As Engineering Manager of the Monetize Squad, you will be reporting to Gilles Laborderie, VP of Engineering Demand and your mission will be to lead and develop your team of software engineers in order to meet the squad’s OKRs.
Your primary responsibilities are:

Engineering leadership - You act as the main engineering advisor to the squad’s product manager or other business stakeholders participating in the definition of the squad objectives and roadmap

Delivery management - You collaborate with cross-functional peers (product, design, and other engineers) to facilitate the planning and the delivery of the team’s projects while ensuring the performance, the stability and the long term scalability of the platform

People management - you recruit, inspire, and grow your team of engineers.

Your qualifications
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Experience in managing development processes using Agile methodologies such as Scrum
  • Experience in building consumer facing mobile and Web products
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of getting things done
  • Ability to take a step back, prioritize and focus on added-value tasks
  • Aligned with our company principles
  • Fluency in English
