Job description

At Beam, you get to do work that matters for the world. We’re solving the toughest social problems with an incredible team, tech and AI. And we’re growing fast 🚀

It’s not easy. Nothing worth doing ever is. But we take care of everyone who works here with everything from coaching to personal budgets and pay competitively.

You’ll be joining a company that’s having a huge positive impact with a high-performance culture where you can learn and grow, enjoy your career, and progress rapidly.

About the role

We’re looking for a Paralegal to join our Legal team and help us achieve our mission by boosting the efficiency and pace of our Legal Operations.

Behind every member Beam supports is a partnership with a Local Authority/Central Government body: each of these partnerships include specific requirements that ensure we are serving members in the best way possible and protecting the incredible Beam team that deliver it.

Joining a small legal team, you'll have exposure to a wide variety of legal work and gain experience of how a Series A startup runs, supported by Legal Operations. This includes commercial contracts, EMI share options scheme, data protection, employment and more!

You’ll be

    • Reviewing commercial agreements - identifying areas of risk in specific terms of our contracts, supporting us to launch contracts and deliver services at a greater pace

    • Building relationships - working closely with our key internal stakeholders while optimising our processes and legal operations

    • Triaging - the leading point of our workload, consistently prioritising to ensure all of our work gets the appropriate attention to ambitious SLAs

    • Documenting risk - managing our SLAs and contract terms so we are always compliant

    • Learning - working with industry experience (Legal and non-Legal) to consistently level up and learn as you work

You are
    • A legal graduate with experience working in a law firm or in-house legal team

    • Highly organised, able to manage challenging workloads and prioritise effectively

    • Detail oriented with a high bar for the quality of work you produce

    • Humble, empathetic, eager to make an impact

    • Excited about the possibilities of tech and AI to bring measurable social change

    • For an added bonus, experience in a tech startup or organisation contracting with the public sector
