About the position:
Location: Houston TX/Alpharetta GA/Arlington VA/ San Francisco CA (Hybrid)
Responsibilities
•Serve as owner of one or more NPI manufacturing projects to ensure CMs are onboarded and brought up to production readiness according to program requirements
•Lead team of advanced manufacturing engineers (as applicable) in the development and launch of new manufacturing production lines
•Coordinate prototype manufacturing activities including prototyping, purchasing/logistics, schedule, budget, etc.
•Ability to provide a forecast for CAPEX expenditures (tooling, fixturing, test equipment, etc.)
•Collaborate cross functionally across a matrix of functions throughout the program/projects
•Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the NPI process to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and drive to implementation.
•Identify and clearly communicate potential manufacturing risks associated with NPI and develop mitigation plans to address them proactively.
•Create and maintain AME deliverables related to new production such as PFD, PFMEA, QCP, manufacturing BOMs, etc.
•Participate in design and DFA/DFM reviews to influence design regarding manufacturability
•Serve as liaison between contract manufacturer (CM), engineering, and procurement when developing component packaging requirements
•Support company initiatives including, but not limited to, cost reduction and quality targets
•Travel 25-75% time depending on stage of production maturity; to include possible international travel
•Other tasks as necessary at the discretion of NPI manager
What an ideal candidate brings to Fluence:The successful candidate will have broad and deep experience within product development and manufacturing within an OEM and/or Tier I supplier community 7+ years’ experience in a manufacturing NPI or process engineering roleExperience leading manufacturing engineers in an NPI environmentExcellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skillsHands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly with high volume, low-mix productionKnowledge of manufacturing metrics such as OEE and yield and experience establishing or tracking KPIsStrong analytical skills and ability to form opinions based in data aggregationKnowledge of quality methods and requirements including APQP or stage gate release processes, ISO9001, TS16949, and global OEM development systemsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent educationAbility to travel to CM locations with little advanced noticeHere are some of the benefits of joining our team:
