Java Microservice Developer

LightFeather is currently seeking talented Java Microservice Developers who are well versed in Cloud, DevOps/Security and Agile. Successful candidates must demonstrate a high degree of initiative, passion for innovation, a solid understanding of software engineering, and a willingness to work in a highly collaborative Agile and DevOps culture.

This is a Remote Position.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop enterprise-level microservices using Java Spring Boot framework.
• Write and execute software tests to ensure quality and functionality.
• Analyze user requirements to guide application design and development.
• Establish clear application goals and define core functionalities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges efficiently.
• Create comprehensive design documentation for use by engineering teams.
• Provide a detailed roadmap for enhancing the current Java Spring Boot microservice architecture.
• Develop user-friendly documentation to support end users.
• Collaborate in a cross-functional Agile team, with a focus on automation, continuous integration (CI), and continuous delivery (CD) practices.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust with full BI clearance or above. Active or prior DHS Public Trust with full BI or higher clearance is preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or IT-related field.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible software engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in the Information Technology field.
• 5+ years of specific software engineering related to Java Spring Boot microservice applications.
• Strong understanding of deploying microservices as a containerized service to EKS preferably (or ECS).
• Strong understanding of maintaining CICD deployments of containerized services involving Jenkins and/or Harness.io. 
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery techniques.
• Experience with test-driven development and automated testing practices.
• Experience in large scale, high performance enterprise big data application deployment and solution architecture on complex heterogeneous environments in AWS.
• Demonstrated growth mindset, enthusiastic about learning new technologies quickly and applying gained knowledge to address business problems.
• Ability to communicate with clients on a business level and translate their needs into a technical solution.
