Job Summary:

We are looking for a Sr. Business Analyst to work closely with our Property and Casualty insurance carrier clients to learn about their business needs. As well as develop and document business requirements that assists other resources on the product delivery team in the development of quality-based solutions.  Leveraging their knowledge of underwriting and insurance processes, the Sr. Business Analyst provides intermediate business analysis functions for product development and implementation of an enterprise web-based insurance processing application.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and documents business solutions for business problems and translates those solutions to technical personnel and sees those solutions through the delivery process. 
  • Seeking a Business Analyst with experience in implementing business applications and following through.
  • Coordinates with the technical team during technical architecture design, development and delivery of product changes and enhancements. 
  • Participates in business and technical requirements reviews and seeks to improve the application workflow for the betterment of our customers. 
  • Responds to production issues in a timely manner and assists Strategic Outsource in their triage of production issues. 
  • Provides all necessary support to new team members to ensure they gain a complete understanding of the PolicyPort application. 
  • Provides business guidance and support to ensure the future viability of the PolicyPort application. 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Business or Computer Science preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Business Analyst role.
  • Property and Casualty Insurance experience required.
  • Previous experience utilizing a core insurance application suite preferred. 
  • Experience with SQL queries and related tools required; other scripting language
  • Familiarity with SDLC, Agile methodology, SCRUM, JIRA
  • Strong customer service-oriented approach yet be able to articulate and suggest other potential pathways of accomplishing objectives - never be afraid to ask, “what if”. 
  • Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to multi-task, juggle multiple priorities and function in an agile environment. 
  • Must be flexible to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
