Job description

The expected salary range for this position is $67,900.00 - $84,870.00. Employees in specific high cost of labor locations in the United States (such as San Francisco, CA and Seattle, WA) may qualify for a geographic differential. Overview

As a Digital Specialist II, you will participate in the digital configuration and production, implementation, and process support of campaign-based variable communications for Compassion. The specialist further integrates design, business rules, and data as well as builds, tests, and deploys complex variable document templates using various software and coding languages. At this career level, the incumbent generally works independently on moderately complex digital production projects and campaigns or as a team member on larger projects. He or she provides consultation and expertise to management/leadership and may coach other specialists.

What will you do?

  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.

  • Acts as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understands Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commits to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abides by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Reports any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately supports responses to incidents if they occur.

  • Coordinates with internal Marketing Campaign Management teams as well as internal/external agency representatives to understand marketing campaign strategy, data/content requirements, and project schedules. Compiles and upholds data/asset requirements and best practices. Applying knowledge gained in education and experience, resolves issues that arise within scope of individual contribution, making decisions or recommendations to accomplish substantial projects.

  • Based on campaign requirements, compiles and communicates extraction or data access requirements to facilitate the specified personalization and dynamic content desired. Further, this incumbent conducts simple tests to validate the integrity of the data and image files, ensuring the required elements are correct and available.

  • Prepares uPlan documentation for campaign business rules, based on marketing variable data criteria for simple to moderately complex campaigns. Utilizes XML/Qlingo code to troubleshoot, write, and test the uPlan that defines data sources, schema, relationships, variable components/conditions, assets, and output.

  • Participates in problem solving and ongoing training for digital production software programs. Stays up to date on industry standards, regulations, and best practices. Uses new knowledge to contribute to updating and improvement of individual and team project work.

  • Maintains ministry and industry standard adherence to responsive coding. Stays abreast of and executes based on the industry accepted best practices for email deliverability.

  • Possesses a working knowledge of the CAN SPAM act and executes production campaigns based on guidelines to keep Compassion in legal compliance. Supports and communicates the Compassion email guidelines and policies. Further understands best practices and regulations for SMS.

  • Adheres to timelines of marketing campaigns and initiatives through effective project planning and successful implementation of assigned project deliverables. Makes recommendations which enhance/optimize productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness within the scope of individual contributions to the digital production team. Prepares accurate documentation for processes and procedures.

  • May provide expertise to other professionals and support staff in the digital production discipline.
