Ultra Maritime is hiring for a Contracts Senior Specialist.
The contracts function at Ultra Maritime is responsible for negotiation and administration of contracts between the company/ customers/ subcontractors/ vendors ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures and government regulations. Provides complex analytical and financial support analyzing potential risk. Individuals may also provide complex analytical and financial support analyzing potential risk.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepares complex contracts for protection of company's contractual posture, satisfaction of government specifications and requirements and adherence to company policy.
  • Prepare, review, and edit contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and relevant laws.
  • Assist in the negotiation and execution of contract amendments or extensions when necessary.
  • Manage the contract signing process, obtain necessary approvals, and ensure timely execution of contracts.
  • Monitor and enforce contract compliance throughout the contract's lifecycle, including tracking key milestones, deliverables, and deadlines.
  • Maintain an organized and up-to-date contract repository, including version control, renewal dates, and related documentation.
  • Identify and assess potential risks associated with contracts and propose mitigation strategies to protect the organization's interests.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors, clients, and other stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations that may impact contracts and ensure all contracts comply with relevant legal requirements.
  • Generate reports and provide contract-related data and insights to management and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Conduct training sessions or provide guidance to employees and team members on contract management best practices and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, law, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of related experience in contract negotiations with experience managing complex commercial or defense contracts
  • Strong understanding of contract law and legal terminology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards may be required depending on the organization's focus.

Desired Skills:

  • Certification in contract management (e.g., CPCM, CFCM, CCCM) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with specific contract types (e.g., procurement contracts, service agreements, NDAs) may be required in certain industries
