We are looking to hire a dynamic Payroll Analyst to join our company’s payroll team.  You’ll be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role involves analyzing payroll data, supporting equity processing, managing complex payroll transactions, and improving payroll operations. The Payroll Analyst will serve as a critical liaison between People Ops, Finance, and external partners to resolve payroll issues and enhance payroll processes.

WHAT YOU’LL DO 
  • Accurately process multi-state bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls using Workday, ensuring all employee data is up-to-date and compliant with the payroll schedule.
  • Provide timely and professional responses to employee payroll inquiries, including pay discrepancies, tax withholding issues, and garnishment questions.
  • Assist with tax compliance using ADP SmartCompliance and collaborate with ADP to address and resolve issues related to tax deposits, garnishments, and regulatory filings.
  • Reconcile periodic payroll files, GL reports, and benefit deductions/contributions. 
  • Independently research, investigate, and resolve payroll discrepancies, applying a solid understanding of payroll best practices, SOX compliance, and relevant tax laws.
  • Assist in analyzing, calculating, and filing quarterly and annual payroll tax reports (Forms 941, 940, W-2) and ensure accurate and timely submissions.
  • Support system implementations, upgrades, and integrations within Workday, ensuring seamless data flow and system functionality.
  • Collaborate on process improvements and develop clear, detailed documentation for payroll procedures, including tax calculations and system configuration changes.
  • Conduct rigorous and quality checks to identify and rectify discrepancies in payroll data, maintaining a high standard of accuracy. 
  • Stay informed of changes in payroll laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with new tax and labor requirements at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Recommend and implement necessary changes to payroll processes and policies in response to regulatory updates.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED 
  • Minimum of 5 years of full-cycle payroll experience. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college/university. (Payroll Certification (FPC or CPP) a plus.)
  • Experience Using Workday Required. 
  • Knowledge of related federal/state/local laws and regulations. 
  • Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office; Advanced Excel Knowledge (i.e., pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Handles multiple concurrent tasks in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Capable of being well organized and have a solid ability to work independently and cooperatively with individuals of all levels. 
  • A self-creative thinker with strong analytical skills and ability to recommend solutions to complex issues.
