BDR is seeking a Scrum Master/Release Train Engineer (RTE) to join our growing team! This position will be performed virtually from the individual's home office working on EST time schedule. This position requires US Citizenship with a DoD Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Role Overview
A Scrum Master & Release Train Engineer (RTE) provides management and direction to a DHA/ DIU development team including organizing and facilitating release and sprint planning sessions, daily stand-up meetings, sprint demos, retrospectives, story grooming sessions, and any other Scrum-related meetings.

Responsibilities
  • Track and communicate team capacity and velocity, as well as backlog refinement and demo progress to all affected teams and management this scrum role will cover everything up until development and through the release of each epic.
  • Facilitates discussion and conflict resolution to improve team productivity while promoting continuous improvement.
  • Updates Jira system to provide transparency on product and sprint backlogs.
  • Assists the team in making appropriate commitments through story selection and task definition and ensures that the stories provided to development teams are defined of ready and definition of done.
  • Lead all project compliance activities by updating the required dashboards; writing, compiling, and/or editing project artifacts; preparing for milestone reviews; and advising DHA customers on compliance requirements and upcoming actions.
  • Make recommendations on how information request responses should be worded or formatted to satisfy the requestor's requirements and avoid rework.
  • Oversee scope management tasks, by supporting change management activities, and by participating in business requirements development, program increment planning, sprint reviews, and release planning.
  • Complete information transfer to release and deployment team activities and in coordinating with the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Work proactively and independently to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Plan, monitor, and control relevant tasks outlined in the contract and statement of work.
  • Function as part of an integrated team sharing products, best practices, and information across the portfolio.
  • Plan, facilitate, and manage program processes and execution including Program Increment (PIs), PI planning events, Scrum of Scrums, and ensuring alignment of teams to defined success criteria and milestones
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate risks and dependencies across the Agile Release Train (ART), ensuring impediments and interdependencies are quickly addressed
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by conducting retrospectives and coaching teams on Agile best practices


Required Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Information Systems, or other related disciplines (Technical certification in relative technology functional area or subject can be substituted for a degree in specific technology.).
  • Professional Certifications: Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and SAFe Agilist 6.0 certification (SAFe Release Train Engineer certification is a plus)
  • Secret clearance is required.
  • 5 of years of relevant experience and other qualifications is required.
  • Experience working as a contractor or an employee for the Federal government.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team collaboration skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative to address incoming items without always being specifically tasked, a self-starter.
  • Required Technical/Business Tools:
    • Jira, GitHub, and/or comparable DevOps tools
    • Microsoft (MS) Office Suite, i.e., Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook

In addition, U.S Citizenship is required. Select applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and be able to obtain a government-granted security clearance.
