Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer to join our dedicated team, where you will be pivotal in managing and enhancing our directory and security services that support the 171 school districts across Kentucky. This role offers you an opportunity to apply your expertise in cloud technologies while making a significant impact on the educational landscape.

Work Schedule

This position allows for a flexible hybrid work schedule in accordance with our state’s telework policy, with a preference for the ideal candidate to work onsite weekly.

On-Call Duty

You may be expected to undertake occasional on-call responsibilities, which can be conducted remotely or onsite based on the established work schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and support the transition of our provisioning system from an on-premises Active Directory forest to multiple Microsoft Azure Active Directory tenants via Azure AD Connect.
• Act as a project resource for key directory and identity initiatives benefiting Kentucky's K-12 school districts.
• Provide operational support and management for the Kentucky K-12 Enterprise Active Directory environment, collaborating closely with Microsoft.
• Implement and uphold Google Education Workspace standards, including object naming conventions and processes.
• Lead the operational migration from an on-premises Active Directory provisioning system to the Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform.
• Ensure ongoing integration support for Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, conducting routine monitoring and maintenance tasks.
• Manage high-level operational support for the Kentucky Education Technology System (KETS) Active Directory environment.
  
  

Required Skills

• Strong experience in Active Directory management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Azure Active Directory and Azure AD Connect.
• Familiarity with Google Workspace management.
• Knowledge of cloud-based database solutions, particularly those relating to Microsoft and Google.
• Ability to contribute to large-scale directory and identity initiatives.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  
  

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Cloud Engineer is preferred.
• Relevant background in cloud migration is highly valued.
• Proven experience in managing extensive directory services.
• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
