ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT:
The Manager of Sales and Partnerships is responsible for growing non-fare revenue through the sale of advertising space. This position will also establish partnerships and products for future revenue growth.

MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead sales of advertising space and be accountable to outreach, pitch and develop relationships with prospective advertisers
  • Make sales presentations, meet with prospective customers, attend events and make cold calls
  • Accountable to manage and grow revenue through regular customer meetings and monitoring of sales pipeline
  • Develops recommendations for new revenue streams or improvements to systems 
  • Makes presentations to senior team members on new initiatives for decision making
  • Work with the legal team to finalize contracts and sales
  • Develop customer retention strategies
  • Reaches out to customers for feedback and finds way to continuously improve and better non-fare revenue streams
  • Provides recommendations on how to improve the agency’s online merchandise store and grow revenue
  • Works with, and coaches, the Corporate Service Centre Representative on sales techniques, promotions and product selection
  • Responsible for updating applicable policies
  • Manages audience profile data and updates this information on an annual basis.
  • Networks and engages with other agencies and sales professionals to ensure Ontario Northland is staying competitive and up-to-date with regards to offerings and technologies
  • Monitors the effectiveness of advertising channels and reports on  findings
  • Works with Finance to establish and revise revenue projections, targets and a budget to support sales efforts and ensure invoices are sent and paid 
  • Works with the Marketing team to select and find sponsorship and partnership opportunities that either grow revenue or build the brand
  • Builds long-lasting partnerships for Ontario Northland by arranging promotions, activations and events with other companies or agencies
REQUIREMENTS:
  • University Degree or advanced College Diploma in Business or a related discipline
  • 8-10 years demonstrated sales experience in a commercial environment and a performance record of meeting targets 
  • Knowledge of the advertising industry in Northern Ontario including digital and outdoor
  • Experience managing digital advertising an asset
  • Analytical and negotiation skills
  • Experience with managing accounts and customer relations
  • Advanced networking and presentation skills
  • Experience writing for business including proposals, business cases, briefings, and summaries of research
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint)
  • Commitment to health and safety
