Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Healthcare Biller/Collector I to join our esteemed team on an initial 9-month contract, with a strong possibility for extension or transition to a permanent role. Location:

This role is primarily remote; however, candidates must be located near Irwindale, CA, as occasional office visits may be necessary.

Compensation And Benefits

  • Pay Rate: $22.00/hour
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM PST. Flexible scheduling options available after training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recover payments from patients and insurance providers for outstanding hospital and medical accounts.
  • Initiate outbound communication with patients and insurance companies (such as Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance) to address payment concerns and facilitate settlements.
  • Collaborate effectively with customers to establish payment plans and rectify billing discrepancies.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness in billing processes and documentation.
  • Partner with insurance payers to collect additional information and resolve outstanding claims.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of payer contracts and medical terminology.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with California hospital billing regulations, including state laws and insurance practices.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in hospital collections is essential.
  • Experience with EPIC or similar EMR systems is preferred.
