This is a remote position.

Job Description for Bookkeeper

Responsibilities:

  • Manage bookkeeping tasks for multiple clients using QuickBooks Online
  • Prepare simple 1040 W2 dependent-level tax returns using Drake software
  • Assist with the transition of client data from Pro Series to Drake Software
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for clients
  • Collaborate with the onsite team to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Adhere to company processes and standards for bookkeeping and tax preparation

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and bookkeeping practices
  • Familiarity with tax preparation software, preferably Drake
  • Knowledge of US tax laws and regulations, particularly for simple 1040 returns
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Ability to work remotely and manage time effectively

Scope:

  • Handle bookkeeping for multiple business clients
  • Prepare approximately 500 simple tax returns annually
  • Assist with potential expansion of business client base
  • Collaborate on transitioning acquired business to new software systems
  • Adapt to company-specific processes and standards
  • Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm Central with an hour unpaid break
