Role and responsibilities, and how will the role impact Slash?

Slash is looking for a dynamic Senior DevOps to help us stay at the cutting-edge of software development. If you’re into dockers, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, Infra as Code, Build scalable and resilient infrastructure, setting best practices such as automating, monitoring and securing cloud infrastructure on AWS, leading and growing a team of devOps engineers this is for you.

You will be a thought leader in the company to:

• Lead the advancement of DevOps and SRE processes and standards across our clients.
  

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to cross-functional teams, ensuring successful product delivery.
  

• Stay up-to-date with the latest DevOps and SRE trends and tools to drive innovation and improvement.
  

• Take ownership of implementing best practices for reliability, scalability, and security.
  

• Collaborate with solution architects, scrum masters, developers, and clients to strategize and implement effective solutions.
  

• Drive the establishment and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines and Observability platforms.
  

Requirements

How do you know if you are a good fit?

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  

• Good verbal and written communication skills in English is mandatory. Ability to talk to international clients.
  

• 6+ years working experience in the software development industry.
  

• At least 5 years of professional experience as a DevOps Engineer or Site Reliability Engineer.
  

• At least 3 years of professional experience in AWS Cloud.
  

• At least 2 years with responsibilities architecting and designing the DevOps and Infrastructure practices in a microservices environment such as Containerization & Orchestration, CI/CD pipeline, security, and  Observability.
  

• Certified AWS Solution architect associate is strongly preferred. Additional AWS and Kubernetes certifications are a good bonus.
  

• Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker, EKS, Kubernetes): managing multiple EKS workload, debugging and troubleshooting with EKS/Kubernetes, Helm chart usage, best practice on kubernetes.
  

• Experience in setting/using Strong CI and CD tools and flow including GitLab CI, Terraform, helm,  Ansible, nexus, Hashicorp Vault
  

• Strong AWS hands-on experience including preferably: managing multiple production EKS clusters, Autoscaling, Load balancer, Secret Manager/KMS, ECS Fargate, RDS, Lambda, ElastiCache, Open Search,  IAM, SSM Agent, Kubernetes,  Prometheus, Grafana, nginx
  

• Experience integrating security into the development process and CI/CD pipelines to find and fix security vulnerabilities early in the development lifecycle including SAST and DAST tooling such as Sonarqube, Chekmarx, etc.
  

• Experience in Infrastructure As Code (IaC), preferably using Terraform for AWS
  

• Experience in Observability and Monitoring using platforms such as Datadog, Splunk,  Dynatrace, Elastic Cloud Observability, AWS Cloudwatch, CloudTrail and integrating third party threat monitoring tools with AWS.
  

• Experience in using one or multiple artifacts repository management (Nexus, Artifactory Jfrog, NPM repository, Helm Chart repositories, etc)
  

• Strong knowledge or experience in setting Secure and Reliable design and tools for AWS cloud
  

• Ability to review the resources and provide input on security points to improve. Awareness of risk as a key drive for Availability, Reliability and Security
  

• Troubleshooting experience in a Microservice environment
  

• Contributing to the writing and maintenance of the platforms documentations and playbooks.
  

• Programming experience or knowledge in different language (Java,  NodeJs, Python, Go)
  

• Strong expertise in software development and agile methodologies, with full-stack software development experience as a plus.
  

• Ability to strategize and weigh options, considering pros and cons of new technologies.
  

• Track record of coordinating and communicating effectively with diverse teams and individuals (e.g solution architects, scrum masters, developers, and clients)
  

• Proactive, confident, doesn’t shy away from responsibility, and take full ownership 
  

• Promote automation, orchestration, and infrastructure efficiency throughout the organization.
  

• Provide insights on emerging technologies and evaluate their potential impact on projects.
