Job description

We are seeking a Senior Security Architect with deep expertise in cloud architectures for AWS and/or Azure to play a pivotal role in shaping the security landscape of our organization. This individual will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the overall security architecture, bringing together diverse business units, products, and teams under a unified security strategy. As a thought leader, you will collaborate closely with engineering and development teams to build robust, secure cloud solutions that enable the business to thrive in a rapidly evolving cybersecurity landscape.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cloud Security Architecture: Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and resilient cloud infrastructures in AWS and Azure environments. Designing and developing comprehensive cloud security architectures and ensuring that cloud-based systems are designed and implemented to high security standards.
  • Business Integration: Oversee the integration of security architectures as the organization brings together multiple companies and products, aligning them with a unified business and security strategy.Collaborate with IT operations and software development teams to ensure secure design and development of applications and systems.
  • Security Strategy & Roadmap: Develop and execute a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy that supports business growth while protecting critical assets, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor cross-functional teams of engineers and developers to drive the secure design and deployment of cloud-based solutions. Provide firsthand guidance and ensure the adoption of security best practices across the organization.
  • Security Governance: Implement and oversee security governance frameworks, ensuring consistent application of security policies, standards, and practices across all cloud platforms.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess security risks related to cloud deployments, developing mitigation strategies to manage and reduce vulnerabilities. Re-factor security architectures that reduce vulnerabilities and best secures infrastructure and data.
  • Security Organization Building: Play a critical role in building and scaling the organization’s security function. Establish a security culture, create teams, and develop processes that enable the business to meet its security objectives efficiently.

  • Experience Requirements
  • Cloud Expertise: 8+ years of firsthand experience in cloud security architecture, with specific focus on AWS and Azure environments.
  • Cloud Security Best Practices: Familiarity with secure development practices and cloud-native security tools such as AWS Security Hub, Azure Security Center, IAM, encryption, and network security. Experience with security technologies including Firewalls, DLP, Network Intrusion Detection, and Secure Coding Practices.
  • Cybersecurity Leadership: Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and managing a cybersecurity strategy for an organization, with a focus on cloud environments.
  • Security Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CISSP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Security Engineer, or equivalent certifications are highly desirable.
  • Risk Management: Deep understanding of security risk management practices and experience implementing security controls, frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001), and governance models.
  • Business Integration Experience: Proven experience in consolidating security architectures across multiple companies or product lines into a unified business architecture.
  • Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
