The Role

We are looking for a creative and passionate Copywriter to join the Brand Marketing team in a part-time contractor capacity (working 24 hours per week), to help support our continued mission to build a brand loved and trusted by parents. This role will report into the Brand Manager, and will work closely with key stakeholders across the business. This person will be writing in British English, but will also write for and need to adapt copy for our American audience.

As the Copywriter, this person will be responsible for creating high-quality and thoughtful copy, to help effectively communicate to our customers. We’re looking for a natural storyteller who can take on a brand’s tone of voice and be able to work across multiple brand touch points (eg. website, printed materials, marketing channels). We’d love to find a copywriter who can leverage AI tools to enhance creativity and streamline the writing process, while maintaining originality. 

This is an integral role in the business so the successful candidate will have proven experience in other copywriting roles. This is a remote role based in South Africa. 

What you’ll work on

  • Work with the E-commerce team to write SEO-friendly and engaging copy to communicate our products, as well as writing blog posts to support the business
  • Write product and collection descriptions for all MORI products that are on the website, as well as creatively naming all our products 
  • Collaborate with our key channel owners to write attention-grabbing and on-brand copy for multiple marketing channels (eg. email, paid ads, social media) 
  • Develop copy to support other business initiatives, for example in-store and point of sale printed materials
  • Work with our Senior Brand Marketing Executive to write press releases which support business news and product launches
  • Ensure consistent tone of voice across all touchpoints that you work on or review

Requirements

  • +5 years experience as a copywriter - we’re looking for an excellent writer with perfect grammar, spelling and proofreading skills
  • Experience working for a retail / B2C brand, writing customer facing copy
  • Ability to adapt to our tone of voice and target market, using emotive language where appropriate
  • High level of attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong communication skills - written and verbal
  • Experience using AI for both idea generation and efficiency
  • Creative thinker 
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work well collaboratively as well as autonomously
  • Be able to take feedback and constructive criticism on board
