PLI is searching for a legal professional to fill the role of Program Attorney (responsibilities and qualifications are described below). SUMMARY

The Program Attorney will be responsible for designing, creating, budgeting, and executing successful continuing legal education (CLE) programs to educate lawyers and related legal professionals on all aspects of insurance law through a variety of delivery formats.

The Program Attorney reports to the Senior Director, Programs Content and Strategy.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate all phases of program planning and execution for new programs covering all aspects of insurance law and related areas in a variety of formats (live, webcast, on-demand) with a goal of 75-100 hours of content per year.
  • Responsible for working with subject matter experts to develop a comprehensive insurance content roadmap, identify program topics and recruit volunteer faculty speakers.
  • Oversee an insurance advisory council of legal experts who provide input on and suggestions for new content.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with PLI Marketing, Membership, Multimedia, Publishing and CLE departments to ensure assigned programs are well attended and meet all requirements for accreditation and all internal deadlines are met.
  • Create, continually monitor and meet budget goals.
  • Research and maintain current knowledge of legal developments in insurance law to ensure that existing and new programs address relevant topics that address the needs of the insurance market.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Law degree and 8-10 years combined experience in law, management, program design and coordination
  • Working knowledge of insurance law, either through legal practice or at a similarly situated continuing legal educational provider
  • J.D. and admittance to a U.S. state bar is required
  • Experience managing and leading a team
  • Proactive approach to maintaining knowledge of current legal developments
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent computer skills with knowledge of budgeting/financial planning and various software programs
  • Must be detail oriented, even-tempered and maintain a positive can-do attitude
  • Periodic travel may be required
  • Full-time position with a flexible hybrid home and on-site office work schedule

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Program Attorney will oversee one Program Coordinator who will assist the Program Attorney in all aspects of program planning and execution.

COMPENSATION RANGE FOR THIS POSITION

$140,000 - $150,000 per annum
