We are looking for an Engineering Team Lead who likes to work on cutting-edge technologies in an environment that gives you the autonomy to explore, learn, and adopt. Join a close-knit team of highly skilled engineers working in an agile environment, and you will be responsible for helping to lead a team of DevOps engineers and work closely with frontend/backend engineering teams.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of devops engineers that maintain infrastructure for various big data platforms.
  • Develop, automate, and enhance SaaS/PaaS platforms built on AWS.
  • Ensure the availability, performance, scalability, and security of systems.
  • Build fault-tolerant, scalable and resilient platforms.
  • Collaborate with backend/frontend engineers, architects, and product teams to support teams that build solutions.
  • Suggest and implement best practices and architecture improvements.

  • Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience with Cloud services in a 24x7 uptime environment.
  • 2+ years of leading a team of engineers.
  • Competency in bash and SQL for automation.
  • Python is an advantage.
  • Experience with automation technologies such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Gitlab, Jenkins (or similar platforms).
  • Experience with system monitoring tools, analyze and resolve complex infrastructure and application deployment issues.
  • Have worked in Agile and DevOps environments and have good understanding of SDLC.
  • Familiarity with databases (e.g. MySQL, Postgres), web servers, containers.
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related fields, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with AWS

  • Extensive experience with Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, and containers.
  • Experience with Airflow, ELK, or similar technologies.
  • Infrastructure automation.
  • Experience with backend big data platforms, technologies, and languages.

    A reasonable estimate of salary range for a new employee to be offered this role would be between $66,000-$225,000 which would be adjusted based on each employee's geographic location.  The position of each employee within a compensation range at Nielsen is dependent on several individual circumstances, such as experience, training, certifications and other business requirements/needs
