Job description

Overview:

Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking an experienced Windows System Admin who can work on both classified and unclassified machines in a highly secure area. The work will be entirely onsite. The team is comprised of System Admins doing both Windows and Linux work, desktop support techs, Certified Project Managers, Solution Architects and Cyber Security personnel. The team works on completing Mission projects for internal and external government agencies.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide both classified and unclassified server support in a physical and virtual Windows based environment. If selected applicant has Linux experience as well, they will be assigned to support RedHat Linux servers.
  • Automating tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or Ansible.
  • Responsible for networking tasks from machine to wall and should be prepared to troubleshoot network and serve issues independently.
  • Work will take place in a highly secured area.
Qualifications:
  • BS/BA in CS or related field and two years related experience
  • In lieu of a degree, additional relevant experience may be applicable\
  • U.S. Citizenship is required per contract. Must have an active DOE Q or DoD Top Secret (TS) with reciprocity to start.
  • Must be willing to take and pass a Polygraph, if necessary
  • Windows Server System Administration experience at least 1-3 years
  • SharePoint Server Administration Experience at least 2 years
  • Familiarity with network protocols and network management technologies
  • Skill utilizing software diagnostic tools and the ability to conduct appropriate troubleshooting processes and conduct appropriate upgrades
  • Ability to understand the application and utilization of software packages, maintain accurate records
  • Ability to research, assemble, and evaluate information or data regarding industry practices or applicable regulatory changes and recommend sound, practical solutions to complex issues
  • Ability to define systems requirements based on user/client needs, cost, and required integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms
  • Ability to define technical standards and functionality tests, and to develop specifications, prototypes, or initial user guides
  • Computer and network troubleshooting
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills with customers, vendors, and database administrators
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment

Desired skills: 

  • STIG or system hardening
  • Linux Server System Administration & UNIX experience at least 1-3 years
  • Windows system administration experience at least 1-3 years
  • Automation platforms such as Ansible, VMware, Python at least 1-3 years
  • Experience leading and implementing large technical solutions
  • RHCE/CCNA
  • Experience in Bash, PowerShell, or other scripting language for automating System Admin tasks or troubleshooting existing processes
  • Experience with container technology, such as Kubernetes, RKE, Docker, etc.
  • Virtualization, servers, storage, and networking equipment experience
  • ESXI or similar hypervisor experience
  • Sec + or other security certification
