Job Description

General Summary:

The Publications Creative Operations Manager role will work cross-functionally to develop and maintain visual content to effectively communicate data for publication for medical congresses and journals and other external audiences (e.g., regulatory authorities).

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interpret routine technical, scientific, and medical concepts into visual content.
  • Provide design knowledge to develop various types of routine digital and print content (e.g., tables, figures, poster layout) with minimal supervision for internal and external audiences using new or pre-defined layouts.
  • Critically reviews files for finalization (e.g., versioning, retouching, updating design assets, resizing, quality control review, proofing, and pre- and post-production) to ensure compliance and consistency.
  • Proactively anticipates risks, solves routine problems, and contributes to process improvements.
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously while adhering to project timelines.
  • Maintain a comprehensive repository of design assets and files for consistency across file naming, taxonomy, organization, tracking, and version control.
  • Maintain digital and print templates, including branding guidelines.
  • Ensure quality and timely delivery from print vendors.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to simplify ideas, information, and data into concise clear visuals.

  • Strong knowledge of and experience with various technologies, including Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere), Acrobat Pro DC, Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), SharePoint, Veeva, and iEnvision (Datavision). · Understanding of typography, color theory, and layout principles.
  • Familiarity and experience with production, print processes, and dissemination techniques.
  • Fluency in PC and Mac environments. · Excellent attention to detail, and strong copyediting skills and ability to apply design principles to digital or print layouts.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to prioritize competing activities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with multiple priorities.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, in graphic arts, design, communications, or related field
  • Typically requires 4 years of work experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay Range:

$124,080 - $186,120

Disclosure Statement:

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
