Job Overview

We invite you to consider an exceptional career opportunity as a Field Property Claim Representative in the Greater Northwest Indiana region. This position offers you the chance to play a crucial role in guiding policyholders through the claims process while ensuring they receive the support essential to their needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee a personal caseload of property claims, including those related to litigation, ensuring strict compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Leverage Guidewire ClaimCenter, Xactimate, and other approved software to execute your responsibilities effectively.
  • Facilitate the claims process through proactive engagement with customers, which may include onsite presentations to agents and large accounts.
  • Assess coverage for all claims and ensure that settlements are just and equitable.
  • Investigate, evaluate, and resolve claims efficiently while working within the scope of company obligations to minimize losses.
  • Identify and pursue salvage and subrogation opportunities.
  • Accurately document claims to substantiate their resolution and minimize discrepancies.
  • Maintain appropriate reserves for claims, ensuring timely resolution through either settlement or litigation.
  • Detect potential fraud and collaborate with authorities when necessary.
  • Coordinate efforts with various departments, such as Loss Control and Underwriting, to optimize efficiency and manage ongoing business needs.
  • Participate in special projects or assignments and serve as a technical resource for fellow adjusters.
  • Be available for deployment to address catastrophe-related claims and act as a backup for supervisors as required.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication.
  • Strong critical thinking capabilities and a robust customer service orientation.
  • Proficiency in effectively managing claims in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with Xactimate Estimating software is advantageous.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while fostering teamwork and decisiveness.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred; however, relevant work experience or formal education in insurance will be considered.
  • While experience in the insurance sector is advantageous, candidates with backgrounds in construction or building trades are encouraged to apply.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of pertinent experience is required for consideration as a Senior Property Claim Representative.
  • Preferred industry certifications include Associate in Claims (AIC), Senior Claim Law Associate (SCLA), or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU).
