Renewables Real Estate Attorney, Energy Storage - Remote | WFH

Backed by substantial private equity support and boasting over 9GW of active projects, we are experiencing a thrilling period of expansion and are in search of a talented Renewables Real Estate Attorney to bolster our objectives.

Job Overview

As a Renewables Real Estate Counsel, you will apply your legal knowledge and commercial insight to navigate intricate real estate transactions in the renewable energy arena. You will work alongside diverse teams, including Project Development, Finance, and Operations, ensuring comprehensive management of all legal aspects concerning land acquisition and project development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a subject matter expert in lease negotiations, land options, purchase agreements, and easements for utility-scale renewable projects.
  • Draft, revise, and negotiate legal agreements for projects situated across various states.
  • Assist the Real Estate team with due diligence activities, including land use investigations and title assessments.
  • Supervise financial closures pertaining to land development transactions.
  • Liaise with both internal teams and external partners, including outside counsel, during the land acquisition phase.

Required Skills

  • At least 3 years of legal experience in large infrastructure land development transactions, preferably within the utility-scale renewable sector.
  • In-depth understanding of land title matters, mineral rights, and the processes involved in project permitting.
  • Proven ability to draft and assess real estate documents, such as purchase agreements, leases, and easements.
  • Strong experience in land negotiations and commercial real estate transactions.
  • Familiarity with the lifecycle of utility-scale renewable energy projects, including interconnection, permitting, and project financing is advantageous.
