Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Commercial Claims General Adjuster / Supervisor who is passionate about leadership and operational excellence. In this pivotal role, you will manage a team of claims handlers while overseeing a portfolio of large and complex claims, ensuring prompt and effective resolutions. You will play a key role in fostering your team’s professional growth and development within our dynamic organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Claims Oversight: Collaborate with the Director of Claims to supervise claims handlers, ensuring efficient and timely claim resolutions.
  • Claims Management: Handle a caseload of intricate and high-value claims, which includes policy analysis, reserve determination, and vendor engagement as necessary.
  • Onsite Inspections: Conduct field visits to loss sites to perform inspections and document findings comprehensively.
  • Compliance & Communication: Maintain knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, and company protocols, providing updates on claim statuses to stakeholders.
  • Claim Resolutions: Investigate claims, compute settlements, and authorize payments, seeking additional authority when warranted.
  • Litigation Support: Engage in claims litigation and facilitate the resolution of disputes.
  • Mentorship & Training: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior adjusters and assist the Director of Claims with staff development and management.
  • Vendor & Adjuster Audits: Participate in audits to uphold quality control standards for vendors and adjusters.
  • Special Projects: Collaborate on special projects as required.

Required Skills

  • 5-7 years of experience in the field of commercial claims handling, with a minimum of 2-3 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Must possess and maintain adjuster licenses in all necessary states.
  • Strong organizational and task management abilities, with an unwavering commitment to exceptional customer service.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred, though not mandated.
  • Relevant certifications or licenses required for adjusters are a plus.
