Job Overview

We invite passionate and experienced journalism professionals to join our esteemed School of Journalism as part-time faculty members. In this remote position, you will have the opportunity to educate and inspire aspiring reporters through advanced reporting courses, commencing in Fall 2023. We seek individuals with a solid foundation in journalism and a strong commitment to teaching excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality instruction in areas such as:
    • Broadcast Journalism
    • Writing, Reporting, and Editing
  • Create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment for students.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance course offerings and curriculum.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to further enhance teaching skills.
Required Skills

  • Expertise in journalism and media production.
  • Proven teaching experience in journalism-related subjects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students.

Qualifications

  • A Master's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a closely related field is mandatory.
  • A Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Journalism or a relevant area, with qualifications appropriate for the appointed level:
    • Assistant Instructor: Bachelor's degree
    • Instructor: Master's degree
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in journalism, media production, or a similar field.
  • Demonstrated competencies in relevant subject areas and prior teaching experience.
  • Notable achievements or recognition in relevant domains.
