Job description

Job Overview

We are searching for a dedicated and empathetic Director of Long Term Care (D/LTC) to oversee our 52-bed Long Term Care Department. In this key leadership role, you will manage daily operations while partnering with the Long Term Care Administrator to design and implement effective policies, procedures, budgeting strategies, and quality review processes, enhancing our commitment to excellence in customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the operational functions of the Long Term Care Department, guaranteeing superior standards of care and service delivery.
  • Serve as a clinical leader and resource, advocating for and articulating the philosophy, objectives, and goals of nursing administration.
  • Employ comprehensive nursing processes to effectively manage resident care.
  • Collaborate in the planning and execution of clinical resident care, identifying essential clinical resources to uphold exceptional care standards.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels aligned with established criteria.
  • Participate actively in the hospital’s Nurse Aide education program to maintain a qualified cohort of certified nursing assistants.

Required Skills

  • Current RN license or eligibility for licensure in the State of Michigan.
  • Proficiency in clinical management and nursing practices.
  • Familiarity with CMS regulations, state regulations, DNV/NIHOA standards, and quality indicators pertinent to Long Term Care.
  • Competence in utilizing facility information systems and unit-specific software programs.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a long-term care facility within the last five years.
  • Progressive management or supervisory experience is highly preferred.
  • Membership in a professional organization and national certification or credentialing in your specialty is recommended.
  • Previous formal higher education teaching experience is advantageous.
