Summary: The Account Manager, Principal Gifts serves as the account execution manager for the Principal Gifts team within Advancement. The principal gift team focuses on the highest net worth fundraising across the enterprise by establishing and managing long-term relationships with individuals and family foundations capable of 7 and 8-figure donations and this role will directly serve the Principal Gift team as a cross-functional liaison to ensure a significant increase in year over year revenue.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as account manager to Principal Gifts team to enhance portfolio development through every phase of the donor life cycle
  • Provide operational support to all Principal Gift territories to help principal gift officers (PGO) meet and exceed annual fundraising targets
  • Work in partnership with Mission, Prospect Research and Advancement Operations departments to effectively develop donor-facing materials on the LLS overall mission, programs, resources, and priorities

Develop Targeted Donor Materials for All Phases of Donor Life Cycle

  • Liaise and strategize with Prospect Research team to build targeted donor lists for each principal gift officer (PGO) documenting 7-figure capacity and focused philanthropic history to streamline qualification process
  • Support the development of PPT decks, program overviews, speaking points, and other collateral materials that best position value proposition to individual donors and prospects for cultivation and solicitation activities
  • Liaise with Constituent Experience and Donor Engagement departments to develop targeted, data-driven impact reports and personalized acknowledgements for stewardship activities

Strategy and Vision

  • Ensure Advancement partnership strategies are executed flawlessly with external partners and all cross-functional internal partners
  • Attend joint account management meetings on behalf of Principal Gift Officers and document moves management strategy with account teams where PGO serves in support role
  • Serve as the Principal Gifts liaison to manage communications for Research Summit, Dare to Dream Summit, and other national events and meetings
  • Collaborate with Prospect Development and regional teams to assess current 6-figure donor base to develop and 7-figure prospect lists and elevate opportunities to territory partners

High Impact Fundraising

  • Cultivate strong working relationships with national, territory, and region leaders, and others throughout the organization to streamline internal processes and ensure the successful communication for Principal Gifts team
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the LLS mission and programs to promote Organizational initiatives.
  • Partner with the Donor Engagement Stewardship team to help execute all stewardship strategies for Principal Gift donors including leadership acknowledgement.
  • Partner with the Donor Engagement team to facilitate high-touch opportunities for LLS Leadership to thank top donors in the form of phone calls, handwritten notes, or in person stewardship meetings.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Key Competencies

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of fundraising experience
  • Experience and proven success in major gift fundraising preferred
  • Experience in developing internal communication resources and training materials
  • Strong office Suite and database management, preferred knowledge of Salesforce
