Job Overview

We are actively seeking an experienced Corporate Assistant Controller to become an integral part of our innovative team. This crucial position involves collaborating closely with the Corporate Controller to manage technical accounting functions, drive the monthly closing processes, and oversee year-end audits. You will play a vital role in ensuring financial compliance throughout our multifaceted organization. Additionally, you will contribute significantly to the integration of new acquisitions and the refinement of standard operating procedures, ensuring financial precision and adherence to GAAP standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage lease accounting for the organization, including lease accounting software administration for the vehicle fleet and new acquisitions/dispositions.
  • Support purchase accounting and the integration of newly acquired entities.
  • Create and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) across various departments.
  • Supervise the year-end audit process, including interim and final substantive testing.
  • Ensure audit-ready financials in compliance with GAAP.
  • Lead the corporate monthly close process, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and flux analysis of income statements and balance sheets.
  • Engage in the annual corporate budgeting and periodic reforecasting processes.
  • Assist with annual tax filings and other tax obligations, partnering with external tax advisors.
  • Provide essential decision-making information to management and perform ad hoc analysis as required.
  • Mentor and develop accounting talent, fostering a high-performance culture.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in ASC 842 is imperative.
  • Strong knowledge of ASC 805 and acquisition GAAP, with proven capability to integrate new companies into ERP systems.
  • Experience in crafting, implementing, and enforcing standard operating procedures.
  • A proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams with low turnover rates.
  • Strong strategic planning skills and effective management of implementation processes.
  • Advanced technological aptitude, particularly in optimizing technology to enhance team performance.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, promoting a collaborative environment.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • High ethical standards and integrity in all professional dealings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related discipline.
  • Active CPA license is required.
  • Experience in Big 4 or equivalent audit firm is highly desirable.
  • 7-10 years of experience in public accounting and corporate accounting settings.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive management experience leading teams of over 5 individuals.
  • Familiarity with Sage Intaact is a plus.
