Job description

We are the team that enables customers to purchase insurance policies direct online. We support our marketing initiatives by delivering personalized customer experiences and we support our back office by creating efficiencies and continual improvement around their processes. While we started on this journey a few years ago under the stable Berkshire Hathaway, we have not lost our touch with agility or the startup culture.

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Test Engineer interested in working in a dynamic, fast paced organization. As a Test Engineer on our team, you will test functionality using manual processes. In this role, you will play an integral role with outstanding communication, collaboration, and attention to detail. You will be counted on to write clear, concise, and comprehensive test cases and work with others to design, develop, and maintain our test plans.

If you are passionate about quality assurance and testing, we should talk. We have exciting opportunities for you to innovate, influence, transform, inspire, and grow within biBERK.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop clear, concise, and comprehensive test cases that adequately reflect functionality represented in acceptance criteria.
  • Work both independently or with QA team members in test case design and execution.
  • Work closely with QA team members and management to ensure that regression and smoke tests suites are maintained to ensure quality software.
  • Identify and report bugs using Azure DevOps by providing thorough documentation and reproduction steps.
  • Participate and contribute to sprint team meetings and discussions regarding requirements, specifications, and technical design.
  • Provide timely and meaningful feedback to the team regarding requirements, specifications, and technical design.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams to deliver require capabilities in a timely manner.
  • Develop strong partnerships with business teams and other groups.

Preferred Knowledge

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent working experience.
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies.
  • Experience with different types of testing such as functional, performance, usability, white box, and black box testing.
  • Solid understanding of Agile Methodologies.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and troubleshoot issues and defects.
  • Experience with SQL and other query languages

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Commercial Property and Casualty insurance experience
  • Expertise with SQL and other query languages
  • Experience creating test plans and tracking defects in Azure DevOps
  • Experience with testing Salesforce payload and user interface
  • Experience with API testing using tools such as Postman
